WIPO DG Opens Diplomatic Conference on Genetic Resources and Associated Traditional Knowledge
On May 13, 2024, WIPO Director General Daren Tang opened the Diplomatic Conference on Genetic Resources and Associated Traditional Knowledge highlighting the historic opportunity the Conference presents for the international community to move the intellectual property (IP) system forward.
Some 1,200 delegates – including government ministers, observers and other stakeholders from around the globe – are joining the final-stage negotiations on a proposed treaty relating to IP, genetic resources and associated traditional knowledge.
The Diplomatic Conference on Genetic Resources and Associated Traditional Knowledge is taking place in Geneva, Switzerland, from May 13-24, 2024.
