Turkey: 29 Detained Over Suspected Ties With the Islamic State
Turkish authorities have detained 29 individuals across nine provinces, including Istanbul and Ankara, for suspected ties to the Islamic State.
Security sources reported that three senior IS members, one planning an attack on the Iraqi Embassy in Ankara, were also captured.
According to Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya, raids were conducted across 39 addresses.
The operation revealed that the detainees were gathering information on churches and synagogues in Istanbul.
