How to ANIMATE LINES in Premiere Pro
To begin I added a colored background to my timeline and I would like to animate a horizontal and a vertical line.
Use the pen tool and click in preview window, then hold down shift key and click again to create a straight horizontal line.
Then go to effect controls panel and expand the shape and uncheck fill property and check stroke and set the width to 20.
Now go to effects panel and search for crop, drag and drop crop effect into your line.
With your line selected, go to effect controls and under crop.
Move the play head at the start and increase the right value until you can’t see the line anymore, and click on stopwatch next to it to create a starting keyframe.
Then move the play head a little forward and decrease the right value until you see the line entirely, this will create the second keyframe.
To increase the speed of animation, just move the second keyframe closer to the first one.
Now our horizontal line is ok, let’s create a vertical line.
First, click anywhere empty in timeline to unselect everything then use the pen tool and click then shift-click to create a straight vertical line.
Now drag the crop effect into the top track.
Then go to effect controls and under crop.
Increase the bottom value until you can’t see the vertical line and move the play head to start and click on stopwatch next to it to create a keyframe.
Then move the play head a little forward and decrease the bottom value until you see the line entirely, this will create the second keyframe.
And now we have horizontal and vertical animating lines.
