Anneke Van Buren is mixing up a Shandy for you.
This light and refreshing beverage is perfect for summer. Invented in England around 1880. Popular around the world, but not as much so in the United States. Why don't you give it a try?
Made several different different ways to your taste. This is a classic Shandy
Add to a chilled beer glass
6 ounces of pale ale or lager beer.
6 ounces of ginger beer 
Optional ; a few dashes of Angostura bitters and a wedge of lemon.
You may also use regular ginger ale, or lemonade or sprite in place of the ginger beer. This is known as a beer, spritzer like a wine spritzer.
