When Alison started pursuing a new career in instructional design and eLearning development, she knew she wanted to focus on building the tangible skills to help her stand out from the crowd. In her search for the right professional development opportunities, she looked at several instructional design bootcamps and academies, all of which left her feeling uninspired and skeptical. Some programs focused on building cookie-cutter portfolios, others used high-pressure sales tactics, and many were led by individuals who didn't have the industry experience and credibility they were claiming.
This led Alison to Tim Slade and his multi-week cohort program inside The eLearning Designer's Academy. After meeting with Tim, she discovered his genuine, no-pressure, and individualized approach was the answer to building her skills and growing her career.
During Alison's time inside The eLearning Designer's Academy, she worked with Tim to apply her creative and visual design skills to develop a sample project in Articulate Storyline and build her portfolio.
Today, Alison works as a Senior Instructional Designer & eLearning Developer for Matheson, where she's using her skills to create performance-based learning experiences. Her story is one that demonstrates the power and value of cohort-based learning combined with one-on-one coaching.
