And the WIPO Global Award goes to… Five small and medium enterprises from China, Japan, the Netherlands, and Singapore are the first-ever winners of the WIPO Global Awards – a celebration of individuals using intellectual property (IP) to make a positive impact, at home and abroad.
On July 19, 2022, WIPO Director General Daren Tang and Chair of the WIPO General Assembly, Ambassador Tatiana Molcean, Permanent Mission of the Republic of Moldova to the United Nations Office and other international organizations in Geneva, unveiled the five winners at a ceremony held on the sidelines of the WIPO Assemblies in Geneva, Switzerland.
An eminent international jury with expertise in IP and business selected the five winners of the inaugural 2022 edition of the WIPO Global Awards program from over 270 submissions spanning 26 countries. From reducing water waste to enhancing medical imaging technology and creating sustainable lighting solutions, each SME represented the heart of WIPO’s Global Awards: building a better world with innovation.
