It's the start of a new year, which means it's time for me to share my advice and big ideas for growing your instructional design career in 2025. As I was thinking about what I wanted to share, I asked myself what I thought most people needed help with right now.
Let's be honest: The industry is tough right now. Things are quickly changing, the industry feels saturated, people have been laid off, and morale is all over the place.
And so, to kick off 2025, what I think is needed is a good, old-fashioned pep talk—a pep talk to help you gain perspective about where to focus your energy in the new year and to get a grip on the things that are within your control.
