Growing threat of mpox adds to COVID woes | Krzysztof Pyrć
COVID isn't gone quite yet. Cases of the virus are rising again, reminding us that the virus is still a major public health issue, even though it's not making headlines like before. The FDA is about to greenlight new vaccines aimed at fighting the latest KP.2 variant. These vaccines are expected to reduce the risk of infection by 60-70%, even with the virus's continued evolution. But COVID isn't the only concern—there's also the growing threat of Mpox. Vaccination is key, with countries like Japan, the EU, and the US stepping up to send doses to Africa. Experts warn however that even more may be needed. To discuss this topic, we are joined by Krzysztof Pyrć, a Virologist from Jagiellonian University.
